Longchamp

Longchamp

Founded in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain originally began as a tobacco store, and evolved into a full-blown leather goods brand as Cassegrain created accessories for smokers. Longchamp now produces everything from wallets to luggage. The brand’s signature nylon Le Pliage Tote, a perfect carryall that is an essential for the chicest of French women, comes in a veritable rainbow of colours; embroidered, printed and leather versions of the classic wardrobe staple are perfect for those who love an elevated accent piece.

Designers such as Jeremy Scott and Mary Katrantzou have collaborated with the brand to produce handbags and accessories that delve a little deeper into the world of high fashion, making Longchamp a must-watch, must-have label.

Longchamp: French Family Craftsmanship Since 1948

Longchamp was founded in Paris in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, whose family business began making leather-bound tobacco accessories before expanding into leather goods.

More than 75 years on, the maison remains independently owned and run by the Cassegrain family, a rarity among heritage French luxury houses.

Le Pliage: The Foldable Bag That Changed Travel

Longchamp's most iconic creation is the Le Pliage tote, launched in 1993.

Its lightweight nylon construction and signature fold-flat design made it an instant travel essential, and it remains one of the most recognisable and widely carried handbags in the world.
